Region of Peel – The 11 Division Bike unit traffic stop leads to a gun seized and multiple criminal charges in the City of Mississauga.
On August 25, 2020, at approximately 3:44 pm, a traffic stop was conducted on Aquitaine Avenue, the investigation led to the seizure of a handgun and ammunition. The two individuals in the vehicle were arrested and charged.
Matthew Mcleod, a 31-year-old man from Mississauga, was charged with the following offences:
1) Unauthorized Possession of Firearm
2) Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Firearm
3) Occupant of Motor Vehicle Knowing there was Firearm
4) Possession of a Prohibited Firearm with Ammunition
5) Careless Storage of Firearm
6) Possession of Firearm Contrary to Order
7) Possessing Cannabis Over 50g For The Purpose Of Selling
8) Have care and control of vehicle with cannabis readily available.
Cristinne Castillo, a 32-year-old woman from Mississauga, was charged with the following offences:
1) Unauthorized Possession of Firearm
2) Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Firearm
3) Occupant of Motor Vehicle Knowing there was Firearm
4) Possession of a Prohibited Firearm with Ammunition
5) Careless Storage of Firearm
6) Possessing Cannabis Over 50g For The Purpose Of Selling
Matthew Mcleod and Cristinne Castillo were held for a bail hearing and attended the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton on August 26, 2020.
