According to a government source, Ontario could see well over 18,000 new COVID-19 infections every day if current patterns persist, despite ongoing vaccination rollout.
As per the new modeling data, additional public health initiatives might bring that number down to almost 10,000, as per sources. This can be possible only if the rules are implemented strictly to curb the rise in cases and spread of infection.
According to the sources, the modeling predicts up to 1,800 patients to be admitted to intensive care by the end of May.
If the two weeks back forecast is to be seen then 12,000 new cases per day will be seen with 800 to 1,000 ICU admissions by last April.

The following recommendations are proposed to the Ontario cabinet but have not yet been formally approved yet:
All non-essential stores will close, and there will be no curbside pickup or delivery.·
Limiting store hours of retail service even further.·
Limiting pick-up at the curb by only allowing non-essential retail to deliver.·
Closing down non-essential construction, factories, and manufacturing facilities that are not connected with health, food, or automobiles.
All outdoor gatherings for non-family members of the same household are prohibited.·
Increasing the police powers to check the unnecessary movements and also levying more fines. Ontario has made a request to the federal government for an additional 600 care staff with ICU occupancy.Public Safety Minister, Bill Blair said, that he has received the draft letter but is currently discussing with the province to identify how they can help in the best way.
According to reports, the Ministry of Health has sought increased provincial funding to combat the pandemic's third phase.
