PM Modi Meets Canadian PM Mark Carney, Praises G7 Summit and Strengthening Bilateral Ties

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a significant meeting with Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney on the sidelines of the recently concluded G7 Summit, lauding Canada’s successful hosting of the high-level global event.

The two leaders discussed ways to further strengthen India-Canada relations, expressing optimism about close collaboration across several key sectors. “Areas like trade, energy, space, clean energy, critical minerals, and fertilisers offer immense potential,” Modi noted, highlighting the scope for deepening economic and strategic cooperation.

Both sides expressed their desire to work together to infuse new momentum into the partnership, aiming for concrete outcomes in the coming months.
