Less than a year after winning the first season of Canada's Drag Race, Priyanka of Whitby, Ont., has achieved another goal: she has landed the cover of a national fashion magazine in Canada. Priyanka, who used her famous call-out to rally Drag Race supporters, "Greetings, my name is Priyanka. What's your name?" appears on the cover of ELLE Canada, one of the country's leading fashion publications, in July.

According to ELLE Canada's Editor in Chief, she is the first drag queen to have a solitary cover in any of the magazine's 45 editions around the world. Priyanka discussed the significance of her accomplishments this year in an interview. In addition, she was the first person of Indian ancestry to win Drag Race in the franchise's global history.

At the age of 28, the 30-year-old drag star, also known as Mark "Suki" Suknanan, left a career in children's television to appear on the popular Drag Race series. Long before she was Priyanka, Mark resided in Toronto's gay village and was pushed to perform on stage by local drag queen Xtacy Love in 2017. She began her career as Priyanka Love, performing in drag venues such as Crews & Tangos, and quickly established herself as a natural.

When a Canadian edition of Drag Race was announced for 2019, Priyanka knew her life was about to change. She was known as Suki on the YTV kids' show The Zone.
