Arrest Made by Peel Police in 14th Homicide of 2018

Investigators from the Peel Regional Police Homicide and Missing Persons Bureau are investigating the 14th homicide of 2018, which has claimed the life of a Mississauga man.

On Sunday, June 24, 2018 at approximately 7:00 p.m. Peel Regional Police along with Mississauga Fire responded to a vehicle fire in a green space in the area of Lakeshore Road and Dixie Road in Mississauga. Once the fire was extinguished a deceased human body was located inside the vehicle.

Shortly after the incident on Sunday June 24, 2018 investigators arrested and charged Ainar GANCTHEV, a 27 year-old male of Mississauga for Second Degree Murder and Arson. He will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton on Monday June 25, 2018 for a bail hearing.
