Major heist in Ottawa as thieves steal half a million dollars worth of valuables
In an attempt to steal a jewelry store safe, Moe Hussain's BBQ restaurant in Ottawa was broken into and then abandoned. Moe Hussain claims he is still in disbelief about something like this.
In the Towngate Shopping Plaza on Bank Street, Hussain owns and runs Moe's BBQ. The restaurant was broken into, robbed, and a sizable hole was cut in the wall that it shares with Le's Jewellery next door on Sunday.
Until he showed up on Sunday at noon to set up and open the restaurant, he had no idea what had happened.
The Ottawa Police said in a statement, "According to preliminary findings, a restaurant was the target of a break-in to get access to a jewelry store located in a nearby commercial unit. It's still early in this study. The jewelry store has suffered severe property damage."
Nothing more was disclosed by the police.
