Liberal MP Francis Scarpaleggia elected Speaker of the House of Commons

Liberal MP Francis Scarpaleggia, who represents the Montreal-area riding of Lac–Saint–Louis, has been elected as the new Speaker of the House of Commons.

Today, both newly elected and returning MPs to the House return to HoC, following a five-month break to select a new Liberal leader and conduct a general election.
