4 of Indian family found dead in California

PTC Web Desk: In a tragic incident reported from San Mateo, California, United States, on February 13, a family of four from Kerala was found dead inside their home. The deceased were identified as Anand Sujith Henry (42), his wife Alice Priyanka Benziger (40), and their 4-year-old twin boys. The authorities suspect a possible murder-suicide.

After receiving the information, the police reached the residence on 4100 block of Alameda de las Pulgas for a welfare check after receiving no response from the family. No signs of forced entry were found, but officials found an unlocked window and entered the home. Inside, they found the bodies of the adults in a bathroom, both with gunshot wounds. A 9mm pistol and loaded magazine were also found at the scene.

The twin boys were found in a bedroom, and the exact cause of their death is still under investigation. Sources suggest they may have been smothered, strangled, or poisoned, as there were no signs of physical trauma.

According to court records, Anand had filed for divorce in December 2016, but the proceedings were not finalised. The police had previously responded to calls from the home, though details of those incidents remain undisclosed. No suicide note was found, and investigators are working to determine the motive for the deaths.

Both Anand and Alice, who were IT professionals, had been living in the United States, california,  for nine years. Anand worked as a software engineer, while Alice held the position of senior analyst. This tragic event follows a similar incident in December, where an Indian-origin couple and their teenage daughter were found dead in Massachusetts, attributed to a "domestic violence situation."
