Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre highlights socio-economic concerns, Sikh values at Khalsa Day celebration

During his speech, Poilievre lamented the state of affairs, pointing out alarming statistics such as two million people reliant on food banks and half of Canadians risking their health by consuming expired or spoiled food. He also underscored the staggering increase in housing costs, which have doubled over the past nine years, exacerbating the issue of affordability for many Canadians.

Poilievre also drew attention to the escalating crime rates, citing instances of chaos, drug-related issues, extortions, and even assassinations occurring without proper legal recourse. He highlighted the growing sense of insecurity among the populace, painting a picture of a nation in distress after nearly a decade of turmoil.

However, amidst these challenges, Poilievre offered a glimmer of hope, invoking the timeless Sikh values championed by Guru Gobind Singh Ji. He spoke about the principles of equality and social justice embedded within Sikh teachings, advocating for a society where no caste system prevails, and power is not concentrated in the hands of a few.

Poilievre galvanised support by acknowledging the current hardships faced by Canadians while offering a vision of a brighter future rooted in the timeless values of equality and fairness.
